Looking through Library Success: A best practices wiki and have discovered Tips/Successful Models for Library Materials Selection.
For me in the library I am responsible for the purchasing of material for the Children and Youth area of the Singleton Library. Creating a wiki for young people to share what they are reading would help me in choosing material that is popular and what the current trends are in children and YA materials.
This would apply to all areas of purchasing. Wikis such as Reading Group Guides and staff picks would help.
Being able to see what other libraries are doing would help in all areas. Just on Library success have found wikis for all aspects of the library
